Yes, will work fine on AC only.   Keep in mind that if you have any sudden loss of power that you could have some issues such as data loss, data corruption, etc.    Same as if you lost power on a notebook (without battery) or a desktop.

I would prefer that the battery can be taken out and still running.

Sometimes I might leave it overnight for downloading and I do not want to kill the battery.

Not sure, however, I will say that on previous mobile devices I've owned, this is not recommended, as the battery performs some voltage regulation by smoothing out spikes and surges. Not sure if that's true of the Venue 11, too.

I charge my tablet over night every night. Same with all my devices. You won't kill your battery. Modern charging technology senses your battery fill level and is smart enough to cut back to a trickle charge when needed. You are far more likely to risk OS corruption from power loss by not using the battery (as described by Brian B) than cause damage to your battery by leaving it in.

There is an application installed on your device called Dell Power Manager.   This app regulates and controls how your battery is charged - you can change modes if you so desire to accomplish what it sounds like you are trying to do by pulling the battery out.

Thanks for all the great information.

I read online that keeping battery hot is actually slowly killing the battery.

So, if I am leaving a device on for the whole night for downloading, it will be always hot and the fully charged battery will be always hot.

Then the battery will degrade faster. That's what I think

Normally nobody will use their tablet as a downloading device. Using a tablet overnight is not normally ppl will do.

Tablet's battery is more important than any device, so I will do what is needed to keep it as healthy as possible.
