Dell Venue 11 Pro 7140 no display when docked
Hi all,
I recently acquired a 7140, K10a dock, and keyboard with extra battery. The tablet itself seems to work fine, and the keyboard with extra battery works great. My problem is with the K10a dock.
When I dock my 7140, the USB ports work, not sure about ethernet (don't have a wired network near me atm to test) but my problem is with both the HDMI and the display port - I can't get the external displays to come on; they just stay asleep.
I have the latest bios for the 7140 itself. I tried the dock firmware updater, but it keeps complaining that it errored and to unplug it for 15 seconds and try again. I made sure the screen settings were for the tablet only but with an external display plugged in. The tablet does see the external display, but it doesn't seem to drive them.
I've read about this issue before, and most of the comments are to update the firmware in the dock, but I can't seem to do that (I'm not even sure how to check what firmware is actually on the dock).
I have tried HDMI->HDMI input monitor, DP->DP input monitor, HDMI->DVI input monitor; all configs show the existence of a monitor but that's about it :/
Any tips would be most appreciated. I really like the tablet for its size, config (I found an 8g/256G version) and functionality but I'd really like the dock to work too...
