Dell Latitude 5175 - error messages on booting that I have never seen

I have a Dell Latitude 5175. It is only 6 months old but it was refurbished, thus the warranty has expired.

Since Windows did a BIOS update, the computer is not running normally. I get an error message upon booting:

ME BIOS Sync - Get Redirection State Error

I reinstalled the BIOS, I rolled it back, I flashed it... I reinstalled Windows 10 twice... nothing. Made sure Windows had all of the updates, made sure Windows Defender was updated... The tablet behaves as though it has 15 programs open, when it has only one. Words take 10-30 seconds to appear, the pointer is sluggish.

I contacted Dell, hoping that, since it is their update, that they would help, but they refused to help. They said that because my tablet was out of warranty, I could only get paying customer support.

Is there anything that I should be trying to do differently? The tablet is essentially unusable at this point.
