Can I watch films stored on my DELL Venue 8 Tablet on a TV?
I have a DELL Venue 8 Pro tablet which only has a micro USB port (no micro HDMI)
Is there a cable available that will allow me to connect my tablet to my TV so that I can watch films stored on my tablet on the TV screen? (my TV has the normal full size HDMI port).
If so can anyone advise exactly what I need to purchase to make this work?
Many thanks :)

It can be accomplished wirelessly, using the tablet's Miracast technology: attach a Miracast receiver (a small device, can be about the size of a deck of cards) to the TV, if the TV does not have Miracast capability baked in; and then "project" the tablet's screen to the TV. Various Miracast receivers exist, for around $50 or less--Netgear's Push2TV PTV3000 has been popular, and Microsoft has a Miracast receiver dongle as well.

Note that the current-generation Microsoft Miracast dongle likely is the more up-to-date Miracast receiver--the Netgear receiver is an earlier generation device (but in my experience still works well, at least with projecting a movie from the tablet to one's TV--some people have said that it can have a frustrating microsecond lag if being used with the tablet in a PC-type mode, which the Microsoft receiver has improved on).
