With OMSA going how do we use WMI to leverage the hardware status including the HDD's with our solarwinds product
We use OMSA currently and via SNMP we use Solarwinds that reads the hardware status via OMSA and gives us information around our hardware like below which includes all monitors whereas WMI does not give the same information, a few important ones are missing
SNMP
Whereas WMI has the following components
With OMSA's EOL we need to act and have removed OMSA from one server and have installed iSM as this looked like it could use WMI to give out the hardware components status but we're getting errors via our SolarWinds package advising it can't see any hardware, so are we missing something here or how do we get this working - so we try to leverage via the OS hostname and not directly to the iDRAC or anything and ideally we'd like to only get status via the OS name.
So ideally we need to interrogate the OS name of a server and leverage hardware status via WMI will full components - how can that happen going forwards?

Jam1e_G,
The Poweredge servers iDRAC has a built in SNMP MIB to run queries against, so you would be able to leverage the hardware status there. As far as Solarwinds, it has been supported for a long time, but I am not certain if there are any guides on it from them.
Let me know if this helps.
