racadm missing from latest linux repo

In DSU_24.11.11 there is an idracadm7 package:

https://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/DSU_24.11.11/os_dependent/RHEL9_64/srvadmin/srvadmin-idracadm7-11.0.0.0-5268.el9.x86_64.rpm

In DSU_24.11.25 I can't find racadm

https://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/DSU_24.11.25/os_dependent/RHEL9_64/srvadmin/

Is racadm going away ? what is the replacement ?

Hello,

Thank you for your post. I've raised the issue with our Systems Management team.

I should have a follow up for you early next week.

Hello,

Currently a work-around for this would be to install from the yum repo using the –allowerasing option and then install the rpm version of ractools in a separate operation.

The RPMs can be extracted from the installer tarball found here:

https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER12236395M/1/Dell-iDRACTools-Web-LX-11.3.0.0-609_A00.tar.gz  (sign file)

Once extracted the RPMs will be in iDRACTools/racadm/RHEL8/x86_64/ and iDRACTools/racadm/RHEL9/x86_64/ respectively.

"Is RACADM no longer going to be included in repositories moving forward, requiring direct downloads instead? Or will it be added back to the repositories at some point? If so, do you know when it might become available again?"

I see there is a new DSU version, however it still does not contain racadm... why? :D

Hello,

I don't have more information than Charles, anyway please follow the workaround to obtain RACADM.

Thanks

@DELL-Marco B This is unacceptable. We are a large company with thousands of Dell servers and we heavily rely on DSU.

You break something, you fix something. Please treat this with urgency.

Same here, we also depend on it. Would be much appreciated if it could be fixed ASAP.

Also having serious problems around this.  We've got automation that relies upon it.  Is there any good reason why this package was removed from the DNF repo, of all places?  Surely it's a simple matter of just copying it back?

Hello,

I don't have an ETA on this.

You may try point to an older repo/OMSA that has the RPM in it.

We are. However, this dsu version is also linked to our firmware updates and that means we are now locked to certain versions and our security team is not happy.

I'd like to get an update on the ETA for fixing this issue, which is also affecting our Dell fleet. As a temp solution, we have pinned to an older repo path

The reliability of the Dell repos has been consistently subpar, requiring us (the customers) to jump through hurdles to get attention and then wait for it to be fixed at some point.

Any update? It gets to a point we might have to escalate to Dell managers pretty soon due to this lack of action.
