R640 BIOS update 2.12.2 / 5.00.10.10
PowerEdge R640 with bios version 2.12.2 and firmware 5.00.10.10. We would like to update to latest versions.
I wasn’t able to find any requirements in release notes that points to previous versions.
Can you please advise what is the correct path to update to latest version?

Hi,
Take full configuration and data backups before starting.
Update iDRAC/LCC first if versions are very old or if update fails.
Update BIOS directly by downloading the latest DUP/executable from Dell, or using the EFI/USB update method as described in Dell documentation and user reports.
Update other firmware (RAID, NIC, etc.) as needed, following the same principle.

Thank you Martin, I'm aware of how to download and update BIOS / firmware, my question is if I can update from 2.12 to 2.24 and from 5.00 to 7.00 in one step or I need to update by steps? I wasn't able to find this information in release notes.
Regards.
