Unfortunately, the problem is that the server is owned by someone else and the original owner no longer works for the company.

In this case, can't we solve this problem by just buying a new enterprise license?

Normally it would be almost instantly, but the issue is with this one is that there is no Idrac Enterprise license associated with the svc tag, as it shipped with an Express. So if you added an Enterprise license after the fact it likely wasn't associated to the tag on our end. If you have the order number the Enterprise license was purchased on I can look at getting it associated to the tag, and to get the license emailed out to you. Also with an Express, there isn't a license to resend.

We bought the device from the original customer. Not from a retailer. So I can't find out in any way who the license associated with it belonged to. All I know is that I got the machine with an enterprise license, but unfortunately a colleague deleted it...

I am not sure I understand the dynamic. If it is a reseller machine or such you can always look at doing a change of ownership form. You could look at a new license, but that would be better geared for sales.
