R340 Bios update 2.12.2
Hello all. We have a Dell R340 RDP server that is currently on an older bios. I would like to update this but I’m not sure if we need to do it in increments or we can go straight to the newest version. Our current bios is 2.1.6 and we would need to go to the current 2.12.2.
Also, I’m not sure if we should update Dirac/LC at the same time? We do not use it, so if I do not update the idrac will this effect the server operation?

Hello fswllc,
I see several BIOS updates that are urgent. Also the iDRAC and BIOS should be updated together whether you use it or not it still manages the hardware.
I would recommend step them up - one BIOS with one iDRAC using these versions:

Hello thanks for choosing Dell.
“Also, I’m not sure if we should update Dirac/LC at the same time? We do not use it, so if I do not update the idrac will this effect the server operation?”
It won’t affect server operation much. We recommend bringing the versions up to date for the better security and etc.

Thank you. So can we go straight to 2.11.12 from 2.1.6 when updating the BIOS?
