Dayanandgore,

As long as the HBA355e is configured in non raid mode then it should work for you.

Let me know if this helps.

Aeh.... iam not sure if all talk about the same

@dayanandgore

why not looking for R350 instead of an old R340?

@DELL-Chris H
isnt the HBA330 a internal only pasthrough HBA which main usage is software defined storage solutions like VMware vSAN?  I dont see how to connnect a external tape to a controller with internal ports.

The right one for these job was the Dell 12G SAS HBA in the 13rd. and 14th. Gen Server. But this controller isnt available any more.

So the successor is the HBA355e (e for external).

Dell only test their own products for compatibility so you will not get an answer if one from a different vendor will work. I can say that we successfully connect Non Dell tapes libs to the HBA355e which is located in our 15Gen. Servers.

Keep in mind that most tape are 6Gbit SAS, which means you need an 12G SAS HD Mini to 6G HD cable.

Regards,
Joerg
