OMSA 11.0 no storage controllers detected
Hello,
My server is R730xd with EXSi 8.0(dell oem),I installed OMSA 11.0, and use OMSA in windows server 2022 (VM).
The controller cannot be detected, but it can be detected normally in idrac.
And no changes can be made, including power. Everything can not configure.
The OMSA is readonly status.
iDRAC version is 2.84.84.84, newest。

The problem has been resolved.
Once PERC is set to passthrough, the host cannot detect this device. OMSA can only be installed in a virtual machine to solve the problem, but installing OMSA on a virtual machine is not successful.
I solved it using LSA.

Hello hedandan,
OMSA needs to be installed in the Host OS (ESXi) to have access to the hardware.
Then you can use the OMSA installed on the Windows VM to access OMSA on the host.

I would also note that Dell has not validated ESXi 8.0 on the R730xd.

YOU -> Browser to OMSA(for Windows) -> To OMSA on ESXI (trough APIs) -> ESXI OS -> HW
And now the hint... if you access the OMSA take a look to the bottom "Manage Node" which offer the way to enter a IP address together with the root credetials of the ESXI OS. OMSA on ESXi is used in a "remote way" and a full blown OMSA on Windows is needed to act as a proxy. The OMSA for ESXI it lightweight and certain parts are missing.

Can the array card be managed by OMSA if it is set to pass through?
Because it is a PREC H810 array card, re-editing the array requires a restart. I don't want to do a reboot.

730xd supports 11.0 and 8.0ESXi, because there are support instructions on the official download page. I found the problem, because I have multiple adapters, I set them all to passthrough, because then the virtual machine can directly access these hard disks.

PREC H810 requires a reboot in iDRAC to complete the creation of RAID, and only one can be created at a time. H830 Not required.
In OMSA, RAID creation and modification can be completed without restarting.
However, in ESXi, when a controller pass-through to a VM, OMSA cannot detect the controller. What should I do at this time?
