My Dell poweredge XR2 server is locked with a smart card.

Hello, I recently purchased a Dell poweredge XR2 server and was setting up the iDRAC 9, but I was unable to access the iDRAC by enabling the smart card login feature without inserting the appropriate smart card into the smart card slot. You cannot use the iDRAC web interface, RACADM, or iSM. What method should I try?

If you enabled Smart Card with Remote Racadm then you can run below racadm command to disable Smart Card on iDRAC

racadm -r -u -p set iDRAC.SmartCard.SmartCardLogonEnable Diabled

If remote racadm is not enabled then then you can disable smart card using iDRAC Setting Utility or using Local Racadm if you have a supported operating system installed on the server. For iDRAC Setting utility you can press F2 during POST to go to BIOS where you get an option to launch iDRAC Setting utility and in iDRAC Setting Utility you will have an option to disable Smart Card

@DELL-Shine K  This was a great help. syntax was killing me.

FYI, small Type-O in your command "Diabled"

I used this racadm set iDRAC.SmartCard.SmartCardLogonEnable Disabled
