Lost IDRAC license Dell Poweredge T320

We have a Dell Poweredge T320 server that has not started for a long time and seems to have lost it Idrac7 enterprise license.

I downloaded the licence file from the digital locker but I get an error:

LIC017 - the license file is corrupted, has not been unzipped or is not a valid license file


How can I get the license to work again?

Hello Edzilla,

 

What is the file name and extension you are applying?

     The license should be downloaded and extracted. Supply the .xml file to apply the license.

 

Try re-download the license to make sure you got a good download and try again.

 

You can also try Import an iDRAC license using USB drive via Lifecycle Controller

Hi Charles, 

I downloaded the file again but I got the same result.

This file is a .xml contained in a .zip, it doesn't seem malformed to me.

 

Unfortunately the server is on a remote site so I'm hoping for a way to do that without going on site.

Hi, just because you didn't use the server for a long time it doesn't mean that license will disappear. 
Did you make sure you put in the right service tag? That's one suspicion I have. If you didn't it won't match/work with the file.

I agree, but the server has lost its license notheless and the service tag is correct (I checked inside the file)

Unfortunately it does not work. The trial license worked, though.

I checked again, it is the right service tag, there is no doubt about that.

Please Private Message me the svc tag for the server, the company name, the company/customer number, as well as your contact details. If the license is available I can then resend it.
