Looking powerdge R740 technical specifications?

Greetings!

I need to check the server information (Technnical specifications?) , I need your help ?

My server is new one, as per now I started with the OS installation of windows server 2016. and I want to check technical specifications through iDRAC, what is required first to use iDRAC to be able to get information?

Kindly guide me by step on how I could use iDRAC? am new one to use server, and my server is powerdge R740. I want to check all the specifications of this product.

How to do that? commands?, ways to do that? how to access iDRAC locally not remotely? I mean access idrac physically/direct to that server?

Thank you in advance!

You can refer below link for various features of iDRAC and its usage

https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-in/idrac9-lifecycle-controller-v4.x-series/idrac9_4.00.00.00_ug_new/overview-of-idrac?guid=guid-a03c2558-4f39-40c8-88b8-38835d0e9003&lang=en-us

If you want to use iDRAC locally from the server you can do it by installing iDRAC tools on the operating system and run racadm commands to get the details

iDRAC Tools can be found from below link

Once you install iDRAC Tools you can run mentioned command on command prompt. You need to login as Administrator user to run the command.

You can refer below link on different options on installing operating system on PowerEdge server

You can login to iDRAC GUI and go to System tab to find majority of the information related to CPU, Memory, LCD (Front panel), Network devices etc. For information related to storage controller and hard disk you can check under Storage tab.

If you have a supported operating system you can install iDRAC Tools and run below command to reset the root password. Please let me know what operating system you have so that I can give the link for iDRAC Tools

racadm set idrac.users.2.password

You can also reboot the server and go to BIOS by pressing F2 when prompted during boot. In BIOS under iDRAC Settings page you will get an option to reset iDRAC password
