Lifecycle Controller SWC0001 Network Not Working PowerEdge R730
Hi All,
I have several R730s when I go into the Lifecycle controller to setup network, that I get an SWC0001. The network daughtercard is the default Broadcom NetExtreme 1Gb quad port ethernet. I know there is an issue with IPv6 but the IPv4 is not getting an IP address via DHCP. I also tried manually entering the IP address I get an error "The Network cable is not connected" even though the LED lights are on the back of the port
I've tried to upgrade the network firmware, BIOS, iDrac but the issue still persists. I also tried to downgrade and then upgrade the network firmware but that didn't help. Everything in the OS works so I am stumped as to what is going in here. Anyone can help would be appreciated.

This is bizarre, I plugged the ethernet port into port 1. Every R720 in the past port 1 would be mapped to device 1 in the network settings for the lifecycle controller. I have been bashing my head for almost 8 hours trying to figure this out. Port 1 on the physical card maps to port 3 in the Lifecycle controller! I don't know what kind of programming happened here but this is the first time I have seen this. It is the same on 4 R730s that I just tested.

Thank you for this post. I was going through the same problem on my R640. Couldn't figure out why the LIfecycle Controller wouldn't connect. Changed to NIC3 and it worked fine.
Come on Dell, fix your stuff.

I know this is an old post, but I just wanted to thank you. I had the same problem and tried NIC3 and it worked! Thank you again!
