Job Queue Problem RAID.integrated.1-1

Hey all homelabbers have you run into an issue with a stuck Configure: RAID.Integrated.1-1 job? Mine is stuck at 1% I am trying to get this server set back up but no matter how long I leave it in idle to complete the task it never moves, It does not give me the ability to cancel this through the GUI or RACDM. I have tried doing clears on the system having the server fully power off and disconnecting power to allow capacitors to drain, removing all disks, clearing configuration for the raid controller, resetting to full factory defaults but the job persists

System Info:

Raid Controller: PERC H730 Mini  Integrated

Raid Controller Firmware Version: 25.3.0.0016

Firmware Version: 2.86.86.86

BIOS: 2.19.0
Any help is appreciated and if any more information is needed please let me know

Hello,

Here are some steps you might consider trying:

  1. Power Cycle the Server:

    • Make sure the server is completely powered down, including unplugging it from the power source.
    • Leave it unplugged for a couple of minutes, then power it back on.
  2. Clear the RAID Configuration:

    • Since you've already attempted this, ensure you’re following the proper procedure. You can do this through the RAID controller BIOS during the POST process. Look for options to clear or reset the configuration.
  3. Revisit the RAID BIOS:

    • Access the PERC H730 Mini BIOS during the boot process (usually Ctrl + R) to see if you can manually clear any outstanding jobs or check the current status of the array.
  4. Update Firmware:

    • Sometimes, older firmware can cause issues. Since you are on version 25.3.0.0016, check if there's a newer version available for the PERC H730 Mini. Updating the firmware could resolve any bugs or glitches.
  5. Check for Logs:

    • If possible, check the system logs or RAID controller logs for any additional information on the job that's stuck. This may give you insights into why it’s not progressing.
  6. Reseat the RAID Controller:

    • If you're comfortable doing so, reseat the RAID controller on the motherboard to ensure a proper connection.
  7. Remove Battery Backup:

    • If your RAID setup has a battery backup unit (BBU), consider removing it temporarily and see if that clears the job.
    •
  8. Reset RAID settings to factory defaults:

    • You mentioned trying factory defaults, but ensure you go through the proper RAID management interface to do this explicitly.
  9. Manual Job Cancellation:

  • Some users have reported that using command-line utilities (if available for your system) can help cancel jobs that are stuck, bypassing the GUI limitations.

If you've completed all of these steps and the job remains stuck, it may be indicative of a hardware issue, either with the RAID controller or something else in your system. Consider testing the server with another RAID controller (if available) to rule out hardware problems.
