install rhel9 on poweredge R710
Hello,
I am trying to install redhat 9.5 on poweredge R710 using usb ISO. everything works fine but in the install GUI, redhat installer does not recognize any hard disks. Is this due to old BIOS or some fireware I need to upgrade?

Hello,
I don't know of any settings that can be changed. I can only go by that list that Dell did not validated it to work and is not supported by Dell.
Hopefully someone in the community that has tried it can share.
If I'm reading Red Hat site right, RHEL9 is not supported on the R710 either.

Hello,
I will note that Red Hat 9.5 is not a validated OS for the R710.
Your PowerEdge R710 supports these operating systems:
The latest supported OS is Red Hat® Linux 7.0

We can see if anyone in the community has tried it and share their experience.
If you have a PERC controller you may need to create virtual disk.
If you have one hard drive, you can make a RAID 0
If you have two hard drives, you can make a RAID 1

hi Charles,
thanks for looking. we do have a PERC controller that is configured with raid5 vdisk0. Is there any update to the UEFI menu or other updates that can support rhel 9? or you saying officially it's ONLY up to rhel 7.
