iDRAC9 System health critical for C6520
I do have 8 PowerEdge C6520 servers which are running IDRAC9 . it is showing system health critical because of "thermally unsupported PCIe configuration is detected" i updated the Firmware and BIOS but still getting same error.

Ash008,
Would you confirm what PCIe devices are currently installed, as well as if the issue continues if the PCIe devices are removed?
Also, would you clarify any part number listed on the PCIe devices?
Let me know and we can go from there.

That card also looks to be supported on the C6520. Would you confirm the processor you have installed in the system, I ask as specific CPU's will only allow a single PCIe card due to thermal restrictions. Those CPUs are ones that have a power requirement greater than 150w, any processor that is less than or equal to 150w will support 2 pcie cards.

that means we can only have one card which already came with the server. we cannot install extra card? because we did install only one card

That would appear to be the issue, as that is a 185w processor, limiting you to only a single pcie card. If this is a brand new server you may want to reach out to your sales rep, or Customer Care (if within 30days).

Would you confirm the part number for the controller, I do show the H756 supported on the server, I just wanted to verify it is a supported part number. Also, would you confirm if everything is up to date, I know you said the fw and BIOS, but what about the rest of the server, to also include the drives?

We have installed Intel PERC H745 RAID controller. i think it is working fine without this RAID controller but we do have other dell servers different models which are working fine with this RAID controller.

If the controller is installed then that would be the single card, adding the nic would make it two.

You would need to replace the processors with ones that are less than 150w to not get the thermal restrictions, or remove one of the cards. Now if they are new orders then you can check with your sales rep to see if they have any options.
