iDRAC7 Enterprise with Windows 2012 R2 server - cannot see outside own subnet
Hi all,
Got an odd one which has started happening semi-recently (last few months or so). We have a few Dell Power edge servers with iDRAC7 enterprise cards (dedicated NIC). All of the ones which are running Windows Server 2012 R2 have an issue with their iDRAC, the iDRAC cannot see outside of it's local subnet (you'd think they've lost their default gateway).
The iDRAC can be seen inside their subnet, but not outside of it.
I have reset the iDRAC but this has not fixed the issue, checked the IP settings, again all good - has anyone seen this before?
Thanks, Andy

Try changing the idrac settings to totally different IPs (will have to be done physically at the system as you will lose idrac connectivity). Then reset the idrac to defaults, then change the IPs to what they should be.

Hello Reybeast2, well, it's only gone and worked! Thanks for this I've been pulling my hair out over it.
Just an FYI in case someone else will benefit from this, it's only affected systems which;
- Have a '2' in their model number (T320, R420, R520)
- Have an iDRAC 7 enterprise
- Have firmware 2.65.65.65
All or none may be linked!
Thank again, Andy

I've seen this a couple of times over the years, sometimes just resetting the idrac to defaults fixes it, but sometimes not and I end up changing the IPs temporarily. Its like you said, the idrac seems to not know its gateway even though the settings are correct. Glad it worked for you!
