iDRAC license downgraded after firmware update
Hello,
I updated the iDRAC on a Poweredge T420 to 2.65.65.65 and the iDRAC Express license it was purchased with initially (back in like 2013) was downgraded to Basic and I can't really do anything with it. I don't see the iDRAC express license in my digital locker, so I had to install the 30 day demo license to get the ability to reboot it remotely again. Is there any way to recover the iDRAC Express license?
Thanks

Hi with this, it's always the best to call in and email with your service tag to tech support. There are several things to be verified first. Wish you a good one. https://dell.to/3i7TMjC

Hi Young E, I contacted Dell support (ticket 159208096) and they said since my T420 is out of warranty and end of life, I can't get it covered by warranty (for tech support) and it would cost over $1000 to do a one-time tech support contact. Considering my server came with iDRAC express, all I did was update its firmware from dell.com, and this could probably be fixed with a refreshed xml, that seems quite excessive. Do I have any options here?
Thanks

Hi, with your service tag presented, the tech support gives you what's most appropriate troubleshooting for your I believe. I would be on the same page with them. Sorry if this was not what you were looking for and I can't be of help.

It can't possibly take $1000 dollars to regenerate my iDRAC license XML, can it?
