How to clear Lifecycle logs using RACADM locally?

Greetings,

Is there a way to clear the Lifecycle logs for servers post 12G using racadm?
Looking forward to your replies.

Thanks,

I thought that you can clear the SEL(Server Event Log) but not the LCC one.  For the SEL its possible with a "racadm clrsel" command.

Yeah indeed. The only way I have found is using

omconfig system esmlog action=clear
omconfig system alertlog action=clear

to clear the hardware logs and alert, but would this be the LCC ones or still the SEL logs?

Thanks,

Theo

Seems that the above commands clear just the SEL logs. Any idea about how to clear the lifecycle logs using omsa or racadm?

Hello,

Thanks a lot for your reply. So what I can see is that I could use the racadm systemerase lcdata. But what data would this wipe out? Just the logs?

The racadm systemerase lcdata command does more than wipe out the Lifecycle Controller Log, it also will wipe the configuration, as well as the entire inventory of the server.

May I ask why you are wanting to delete the LCC log?

Hello Chris,

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply. I want to start testing the machine with clear lifecycle and SEL logs, then test it and catch any anomalies reported during the procedure, and once done, clear them again before giving the box to the customer for provisioning.

Thanks,
Theo
