Dell iDRAC forcing logout
I have a Dell R740 server, running Windows, that was recently upgraded from Server 2012 R2 to Server 2016 through an in-place upgrade.
Since the upgrade wasdone, the iDRAC for the system has been displaying odd behavior. I can log into the iDRAC without issue, but after logging in, within 1-3 minutes the iDRAC will force a logout, requiring re-authentication.
This happens on any system that I use to log into the iDRAC.
The iDRAC is confirmed to not be restarting - I can log in again immediately after getting forced out, and the Lifecycle Log shows entried indicating the GUI session logged off, with no indication of an error or otherwise causing rhe logout. Connections through SSH or Redfish show the same behavior.
I have confirmed my timeout settings are set to the normal defaults.
I have updated the iDRAC to the most recent firmware available at this time (6.10.30.00), with no change to the behavior. I have performed a full reset of the iDRAC twice (once maintaining user and network settings, and once resetting to defaults), with no change to the behavior.
All iDRAC functionality seems to be working properly - except the fact that I cannot stay logged in.
Has anyone else seen anythinglike this, or any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Hi, thanks for your detailed sharing. As far as I can see you have tried many steps. In addition to what you have done, I recommend cleaning the browser cache, which I hope will help. Previously, I had come across an unexpected logout situation related to the cache. Other than that, I don't think it has a direct relevance, but if the iDRAC Service Module, which is related to the OS, is not installed, it can be installed. But please check with cache cleaning.

I do have the ISM installed, and it hasn't had any impact.
I have also cleared my cache (as well as trying to access from several different devices, with freshly installed browsers), and the issue still occurs.
This issue never occured prior to the upgrade from Server 2012 R2 to Server 2016, but an OS upgrade (or any OS in general) shouldn't have any impact on the iDRAC, since it is an independent system.

this is an interesting problem. If these things did not work, please check the webserver timeout settings may have changed somehow. Page 163 https://dell.to/3EfEQI4 and by downgrading the iDRAC, it can be checked whether the logout problem persists. As you said, I don't expect it to be related to the OS upgrade.

You said you did an iDRAC reset. If you have not done a hard reset, you can check the iDRAC to return to its default settings by performing a hard reset at a suitable time. Beware, your password and network settings will also revert to default. https://dell.to/3YWg6MR
I can't think of anything else right now. Let's see what suggestions will come from the community.

I have confirmed that the timeout settings are the default (1800 seconds):
I did a rollback from 6.10.30.00 to 6.10.00.00, and the issue still continues.

I have performed 2 seperate resets to factory values, and the issue has not been corrected.

Hello jimmyjames1234,
Let's take the OS out of the picture. Power down the system and connect to the iDRAC from another device. Does the issue occur?

Even without the OS involved, yes, the iDRAC issue still occurs. I had the server powered down last night, and connected to the iDRAC from 3 different systems, and would be logged out repeatedly.

Thank you for the update.
Have you try Edge browser?
I see you have done a reset DRAC to defaults.
Have you given the system a full power drain or clear NVRAM?
drain flea power (shut down, disconnect power cables and Network cables, hold in power button 20 seconds with cords removed). After flea power drain, system has to set for 3 minutes for DRAC to reset without any power plugged in, then plug in NIC and power but wait 2 minutes before power on to give DRAC time to initialize.
Check results
Clear NVRAM - there is a map under the lid to show the jumper location (37).
Shut down, Set jumper to the Clear position, power on and Post up to the jumper error, shut down and return jumper to original location.
Check results

Was this ever resolved? I have the exact same issue on an R750/iDRAC 9.
