Dell DLm8500 in a z/VSE environment?

Running a z/VM 7.2 with z/VSE 6.2 guests that have CA-DYNAMT as our TMS.
Also recently implemented DLM8500. (Which btw, functions fine.. mounting tapes etc…)
Looking to scratch tapes now in the DLm.
Dell documentation on using supplied program DLMDTSCR is vague to say the least.
The Dell Doc indicates to scratch tapes in the DLm by ‘owner’
Sounds easy enough.. Ex.. // EXEC DLMDTSCR,SIZE=AUTO,PARM='B'
Should scratch volumes with Owner=B ….
But what tells the DLM what Volumes with OWNER=B to scratch?
Obvious concern is DLMDTSCR will scratch valid production volumes.
Any professional experience with this would be greatly appreciated
