Custom port for iDRAC VNC
Hi guys,
I have two servers behind firewall and need to set up external access.
With access itself there are no issues. The 1st servers is accessed on port 10553 redirected to 443 and the 2nd server is accessed on port 20553 redirected to 443.
However, now I need to configure remote presence port for access on both servers.
I know how to make servers listen on custom ports but how to launch console with custom port?
Thanks.

Hello, I will share two pdf files with extensive explanations and some articles that I think will be useful, you can review them.
Accessing Remote Desktop using VNC on Dell PowerEdge Servers https://dell.to/3NByvbZ
Using VNC with iDRAC https://dell.to/3ugpVZr
Using VNC client to manage remote server (iDRAC9) https://dell.to/3ufmJgq
Using VNC client to manage remote serve (iDRAC7) https://dell.to/3NI5taM
Hope that helps!

Hi Erman,
Thanks for your reply. Sorry if I provided misleading information.
I'll explain in different way.
I have a rule on a firewall that redirects port 443 for access to iDrac and 5900 to open virtual console.
Without redirecting port 5900 virtual console is not opening from outside.
However, because I have two servers I can't redirect the same port twice or I can't have two rules that redirect the same port.
Therefore I need one server to have say 5911 for virtual console port and another server to have 5912 port.
But as soon as I make any changes in Virtual Console port settings virtual console stops working.

Can you share server model and iDRAC FW versions you have? Can you try with latest iDRAC FW if you have an older FW installed. When you change virtual console port existing sessions get disconnected. With new custom virtual console port are you seeing the issue through firewall only and are you able to open virtual console within same network

Hi @DELL-Shine K ,
As far as I know iDRAC firmware was recently updated but started getting " Access Error: 400 -- Bad Request". My colleague is tying to fix it by downgrading iDRAC firmware. As soon as iDRAC access is back to normal I'll post its version here.

Hi All,
Just writing to check if there is a solution for adjusting Virtual Console default port so that a firewall could redirect console requests to the respective servers.

@it_tech_22 Connect with the IP address, check the host name from the certificate that is presented. Overwrite your local hosts file with the IP address you are using to point to the host name. Then open the browser with the host name rather than the IP.

@it_tech_22 I think you are explaining it very well. Dell seems like is not getting it. I am looking for the resolution as well. A work around is to setup 2 public IPs if you have them.
