ZONE SET ACTIVATION HISTORY / VIEWING REPORTS

Storage Gurus:

Apologies if I am posting this question in the wrong forum. (But, I am confident that one of you will help me with what I am looking for)

Connectrix Manager has spoilt me. Remember the "View Report" Icon which helped us keeping track of all the Zoning History each time the Zonesets/Zones are modified?  I loved this feature in in Connectrix Manager as it would give the timestamps of each modification that was made and let us know if it as a successful Addition/Deletion or Change. I want to know if there is something similar in Fabric Manager? Any input from your end would be most appreciated.

Warm Regards,

-Kennedy

i don't see a single report that would generate this type of information. Health, inventory, performance - yes

that information should be logged by default, i did not enable anything special. Have you made zone changes recently and you don't see them in the output of that command ?

Ravi:

Thanks for writing back. The link what you have sent to me is useful. But, looks like it is for the Fabric Manager Web Client. It looks very much different to the Fabric Manager Software installed on our Server here.

I was asking ravi about templates in Cisco Web client. Look at the command i provided, it will show you exactly what's going on ..no pretty GUI though.

Dynamox:

Thanks for the CLI command that I wasnt familiar with. I can make good use of it. Although - this accounting log has information only about the staet of the ports and other information. I do not see any zoing information in the output.

I dont see anything about Zone Addition and Deletion in the accounting log output, Dynamox. I think I need to dig out information on how to collect this information. May be we can turn on and shut off specific pieces of information in the log? Just guessing.... thanks for your inputs to both of you - Ravi and Dynamox.

yes thats corrent from the command you provided gives the complete history. But Kennedy was asking some thing similar feature in fabric manager, which is why i referred him to that link. Also if you can click on the custom under reports and select what ever the infonrmation you want in that report and fabric manager will generate it for you.

Command given by Dynamox should get you the details like added member, removed member and zoneset activation time and user who performed it. We are using DCNM (formerly CFM) but I do not think we have that facility in it.

If you find one, please let us know :-)

Thanks
