Excerpt from the AIX and Linux Host Connectivity Guides:

"AIX"

SPC-2 Compliance (SPC2)a
SCSI-3 Compliance (SC3)
Enable Point-to-Point (PP)
Enable Auto-Negotiation (EAN)
Unique Worldwide Name (UWN)
Common Serial Number (C)a

a. If upgrading from an earlier Invista release where this bit is not set, there is no need to set it
because the Invista code supports either setting.

"LINUX"

SPC-2 Compliance (SPC2)c
SCSI-3 Compliance (SC3)
Enable Point-to-Point (PP)
Enable Auto-Negotiation (EAN)
Unique Worldwide Name (UWN)
Common Serial Number (C)c
c. If upgrading from an earlier Invista release where this bit is not set, there is no need to set it
because the Invista code supports either setting.

See these 2 guides for "more" information you should review and be aware of.. Also, you should set these at the initiator level and not the FA port. How to do this is in the "Solutions Enabler Array Control Guide", all of these (docs) available via PowerLink..

I agree with Dynamox on this too..

Although you can and should follow Host Connectivity guides, Elab Navigator is the interface to the most up-to-date "support matrix" for so many other things. It offers a way to search specifics in so many layers and will let you know if your environment variables are found and matches.

As an example, there are times where you may supply Elab with an HBA model that wasn't deemed "qualified" - or even if it IS found, the driver may not qualifiy. With that said, you need to take that information under advisement and should make appropriate plans to align accordingly.

To use Elab Navigator, see: emc161911, from PowerLink support>search support.

Have you tried to use E-Lab Navigator, once you select your host OS and your array model it will create a custom document that contains required FA flags (that can be applied either at FA or HBA level)
