The maximum number of members is 255, however I think a 255 meta is too many. 16 or 32 members is a more reasonable number.

what is your current requirement? There is no hard and fast rules as they are many factors need to be considered for an optimum solution. If you provide more information that you might discover more options than you may have thought intially

The largest volume you can create on DMX is around 60GB, the largest volume on VMAX is around 240GB.
If you need a larger LUN presented to the host, you have to create a meta volume.
Volumes of any size requiring high performance should probably be meta volumes as well.

Understood that it is the max device size, but what will be the max meta size?
