Hi,
You can use : symcfg list -sid xxx -da all
Check the entries under Slot
Total Number of engines = Number of slots / 2
The first engine to be installed is always 4 that will contain Dir: 7,8
Followed this engines are added upside down.. So the next will be Engine 5 and then Engine 3 and so on...
The engines will always contain the follwoing directors..
Engine1:Director 1,2
Engine2:Director 3,4
Engine3:Director 5,6
Engine4: Director 7,8
Engine5:Director 9,10
Engine6:Director 11,12
Engine7:Director 13, 14
Engine8:Director 15, 16
Thanks

See here in the baove output we have slots: 5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12.
So Total Engines in teh box are: 8/2 =4
Each of this engine will have 2 Directors each.
Engine 1:Dir 1,2
Engine 2:Dir 3,4
Engine 3:Dir 5,6
Engine 4:Dir 7,8
Engine 5:Dir 9,10
Engine 6:Dir 11,12
Engine 7:Dir 13, 14
Engine 8:Dir 15,16
Also from output we see Directors 5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 are installed so Engines should:
Engine3, Engine 4, Engine 5, Engine 6
Thanks
Amita

so, if the slot is evenly divisible by 2, then it would be on engine 2? (ie: slot 10 is evenly divisible by 2, but 7 is not)?

Amita:
Does this theory hold good for DMXes as well?

Hi,
We dont have Engine concept in DMX arrays.
The directors there are installed oppositely. First Director 1 and 16 are installed and later on the 2 and 15 and so on..
Thanks
