so tdev by creation will be bounded to default SRP and have the default SLO Optimized/Basic
and will inherit Storage group SLO ,
the Question is can i add same tdev to different SG !!!

i was able to add same dev to two storage group as one of them not in fast. have SLO =none
which mean NONE does not mean optimized so what does none mean

The SLO of None allows you to have a device in more than one storage group as a single device can only have one SLO. In your case the second storage group has an SLO of something other than None, be that Gold, Optimized, etc.; however if the device is only in a single storage group with an SLO of None, it will still follow an Optimized SLO. So you might say that None is Optimized and if the device is only in a single storage group you would be correct. If you specify Optimized as the SLO though you will be unable to put that device in another group with a different SLO. So the concept of an SLO of None is to allow devices in multiple storage groups, but there is no such thing on VMAX3 of a device not being under FAST management. I hope that makes sense.
