Unisphere implementation for VMAX

Hi All,

I have Implemented a Unisphere environment in my place. I have installed the Unisphere client in a dedicated server.

But while installing it was asking only storage array IP. However we have 3 vmax , 1 VNX , 1 Clarion, 1 Centera.

Kindly help me in this to add all the domains in the same Unisphere client? Also if any has the Unisphere client software that supports multidomain kindly fwd the link to ragavrags.423@gmail.com

Thanks in advance,

Ragav Sidu

Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility.  Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and questions can go unanswered for a long time.

You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right.  Then search for and select: "Symmetrix Support Forum" which would be the most relevant for this question.

For VMAX, you have a dedicated software Unishere for VMAX(UniVMAX) and for VNX, there is different Unisphere. Both needs to be downloaded separately and installed on separated mgmt hosts.

You should log into the domain master node IP address.  Once changing to that, you can add multiple systems.

Only a global user who has the privileges associated with the Administrator or Security Administrator role can manage domains or multi-domains.

Follow these steps to define or change the master node for the local domain:

1.Select All Systems > Domains, and in the Local Domain task list, click Select Domain Master.

2.In Master Node IP Address, either type the IP address for a node in the local domain that you want to be the master node or select a node from the list of nodes defined in the domain directory. The IP address for the node must belong to one of the node's SPs. If this is a first-time installation, the IP address of the node that the browser is pointing to appears in Master Node IP Address, and no nodes are listed in Available Nodes.

3.Click Apply or OK to make the node you selected the master node.

If you do not define a master node, each node is the master of a domain consisting only of the node itself.

The above information applies to VNX.

Hi dynamox,

It is for defining a master node in VNX array on unisphere.

OP is asking if he/she can manage VNX/VMAX from one Unisphere interface and the answer is you can't,  two completely different implementations of Unisphere.
