Unable to start SYMAPI Server Daemon
Folks, I need your expertise in solving a problem. I am trying to set-up "Remote SYMAPI Client" in my environment and in order to achieve this it is essential to have storsrvd daemon running. Unfortunately, I am unable to start this daemon. stordaemon start storsrvd command returns the below given error. Waiting for daemon to start. This may take several seconds. Daemon storsrvd has not started. *** Daemon storsrvd is not currently running I do not see anything in the logs either. I have rebooted the server and recreated the SYMAPI database but I am still unable to start this daemon. Could you please let me know the next level troubleshooting steps? Appreciate your time and help Thanks

Try running the command,
stordaemon install storsrvd -autostart
This sets the daemon to start automatically and will get restarted by the watchdog. Once you have done this start the daemon, if it fails to start you should get an indication of why in storsrvd.lo0 file on the server. If you still have an issue please open SR with support.

Thanks for your suggestion, Paul.
I did run "stordaemon install storsrvd -autostart" followed by "stordaemon start storsrvd" but this did not bring the storsrvd daemon online. Nor this update the storsrvd.log0 file. This particular file was modified on 19/06. We may have to have EMC intervention here I presume.

yes, support will get you running in no time, just have a grab or emc reports attached to the SR.
