System Write pending count is reaching 50% threshold
Hi,
In performance analysis report by emc it is written as below"
System Write pending count is reaching 50% threshold many time in the day. Best practice is to restrict the system write pending count to less than 50%. Once the 50% write cache is utilized system identifies cache stress and the read and write performance may degrade during this time."
What I have to do to keep Write pending count less than 50% of threshold?

The host write throughput in IOPs or MB/sec has to be slower than what the Symm can keep up with on the backend.
You can limit the host somewhat by reducing the port count or lowering the maximum queue depth, but it is better to make sure the Symm can keep up by having enough backend resources (disks and DAs) to easily keep up with the writes coming in.
