Your output suggests that the BCV may have been SPLIT before they the previous ESTABLISH had completed. In that case the data on the BCV is effectively corrupted and there is not much point in allowing the devices to come ready :-)

Try an establish -full.

Also take a look at a symdev show on one of the devices... review the back-end section, is the device ready on the DA?

If it is NR, then maybe you have unprotected BCV and a failed drive in the system. Perhaps raise an SR to and get the PSE lab to check it out for you.

I think you need to get the PSE to check out why the device is NR on the DA. Timefinder operations will not complete successfully while the BCV is NR on the back-end.

Thanks for your reply Jasonc.

I am getting error,

The device is not in a valid Ready state. Operation cannot proceed.

while doing symmir -full establish.

The hyper status at backend DA is NR. There is no disk failed.

Hi Koteswar,

Firstly this code is very old, older than me

Device NR on the DA could be due to the failed disk. We had the same problem on one of your lab DMX, devices went in to NR on the backend after the hotspare sync. As Jason said, engage PSE lab to investigate this.

Saurabh
