Hi Muhammad.  You mean to remove a licence FROM VMAX or VMAX SE?   Or to get a licence for VMAX?

Muhammad, try to use the following commands:

Symlmf show –type emclm –sid xxxx (This command displays the license file that was last used for installation of licenses)

Symlmf query –type emclm –sid xxxx (This command displays the state of all licenses for a Symmetrix that were activated by the license file or were deemed "in-use" at the time of upgrade from Enginuity 5874.  In addition, it displays the current usage by license by the Symmetrix.

Symlmf list –type host (This command displays the Host Based Licenses)

Muhammad probably you need the license file for something very specialized. When you do a CCA for a VMAX actually you need the BIN file.

Hi Muhammad,

One option for you to get the license would be to get it from Powerlink. Follow the forum document "Symmetrix eLicensing for 5875 Enginuity".

If you dont have lic file or you have lost it somewhere, you could re generate it on Powerlink.

CE who installed the system might have kept it on the SP with other installation files. Just check with your CE or search in C:\New Code or similar folders for a file with .lic extension.

In SymWin, there is a menu that pulls the ELM information from SFS and you have the option to save that file in txt format. Your CE should be able to do it for you.

As I had mentioned earlier, the easier or quicker way is to get it from Powerlink under following :

Home > Support > Software Downloads and Licensing > License Management

On Service processor, the path /location must be where you saved it. Its like you have .lic file and you saved it on desktop and then installed the licenses using Solution enabler or the SymWin

After the installing the licenses, it goes to SFS volume i guess
