Removing Clone Info from a device

Hi there

Brief explanation fo what I am doing. I am busy doing a storage reclaim. Here is an example of what I am doing

Symmetrix A                                      Symmetrix B

R1                           Backup               R2

08DF(R1+Mirr Meta) 3997 BCV+R5     4CF6

I need to remove all mapping and masking and move devices to the unmapped device pools

I have destroyed the R2 relationship

I have device 08DF as a standard 2 Way Mirror

BUT 08DF still has a clone device 3997 assosiated with it. Therefore I cannot destroy the meta

How to I remove this relationship so I can destroy the meta on the R1 and BCV

Hi,

Put the std and Clone device in a file and run:

symclone -f query

If it shows active relationship.

run symclone -f terminate

The above command will break the clone relationship between your std and clone devr

As you haven't mentioned the code running on symm, and assuming we are dealing with TF/Mirror i would suggest to use the classic symmir command

symmir -f -sid xxx cancel
