RDF MB/sec vs sync rate MB/S

I've been monitoring our rdf sessions and have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to.

I ran symstat and symrdf against the same ra group and the MB/sec output listed in the symstat output is significantly different than the sync rate returned with the symrdf query command. 16.5 versus 9.7. What is being measured for these two commands?
