Question of SRDF and Timefinder

we have 100 GB STD device which has R2 in remote binded in SRDF/S replication .

Normally if we have 100 GB data on R1 it will get replicated in R2 as well .so whatever data is in R1  will be in R2

Now let us say out of 100GB data 50GB data get deleted ...how much data will be on R2

SRDF is a block to block copy of data

So if there is 100 GB of R1 the first full establish will copy all the 100 GB ( that is all the tracks ) to R2
Now if 50 GB is deleted on R1 that means there is a data change happened on R1 so it will copy any track that has changed its data

The R1 and R2 are exact mirrors of each other. whatever the host does to the R1 device in terms of writing will also happen to the R2 device.

When files / data are deleted from a file system, typically just the file system metadata is updated to reflect the deletion. So deleting 50GB of files / data will actually only generate a small number of tracks written to the R1 (and R2) device hosting the file system.

yes, R2 will be identical to R1

we agree that any deletion in R1 will update the same on R2 ...

In this case ...we will have only 50 GB data on R1 and R2 ...

Please correct me ??

R1 and R2 will look identical , If you have 100G of data on R1 ..there will only be 100G of data on R2.

so if out 100GB data 50 GB got deleted from R1 ....same thing will get updated on R2 (50 GB will get deleted from R2 as well).

I guess i am correct here now

Jason's point is how much change(GB/tracke) is actually transferred across the SRDF link to reflect the deletion , and  its a lot lesser than 50GB; what all you have to say on that?
