Persistent binding and datadomain DD860
Hello,
Drives are lost from time to time at backup application (Tina) level, apparently it's a persistent binding problem which must be solved at linux
level (linux Redhat with Emulex HBA).
Does anyone met this problem ? and how did he solve it (procedure details) ?
Thanks for your help
Regards
Consty

Is this a Symmetrix question or a DataDomain question? If you're looking for information on persistent binding with VMAX devices, search for the EMC document "Host Connectivity Guide for Linux". There are instructions for setting persistent binding at the HBA level or by using UDEV rules.
If you're looking for persistent binding with FC VTL drives on DataDomain, you'll want to go to the DataDomain support site. Search for "Linux Troubleshooting Guide for VTL Configuration". This will help you configure persistent naming rules for the DD VTL drives visible via FC. Pay close attention to the systool commands used to get the WWPNs - it's easy to run the command on the wrong class.
Let us know if that helps!
