No matching Symmetrix Tier found

Hi,

Just a shot in the dark, but you may want to try refreshing your local SYMAPI database and then re-running the command.

To ensure that all VP/FASTVP data is in the SYMAPIDB, run the following commands:

symcfg discover

symcfg sync -local

symcfg sync -vpdata

symcfg sync -fast

Then try running the demand report command again.

I fixed the issue by renaming the symapi database file and rediscovering the VMAX.

My question now is:

Is there any FAST report that can show per Tier how many space are demanded before moving the datas ?

Hi,

Do you mean something like the old 'approval mode' in Optimizer & FAST DP, where you could see what promotions/demotions the array wants to make before it actually makes them? There is no equivalent to this with FAST VP.

Yes, that exactly what I looking for.

I guess with Tier advisor we might get a pretty good understanding of what is required (drives, skew) to meet the IOPs requirements
