Migration to VMAXe from CX and VNX
Does anyone know if SANCOPY is supported with the VMAXe?

What O/S are the host using? If it's UNIX-based or W2K8 hosts, you can just create the same size (or larger) luns, assign them to the host, mirror the luns then break off the CX/VNX luns. Done.
If you are using W2K3 or older you'll probably need something like Robo Copy or Open Replicator to migrate the data.

i know VMAXe is not listed in E-Lab matrix but i just can't imagine it would not work. Open a ticket with support, your TC might need to request an RPQ.

They also can use Replication Manager as well if they have a budget for it.

With a VMAXe, you get an Open Replicator licence to perform hot pull. You can also use Open Migrator, which is handy if you want to address volume re-alignment as part of the migration.

Not sure. I'll be doing some CX to VMAXe next month so I'll check it out.

PPME does indeed work very well for migrating between one EMC to another. We have tested and used it between DMX and VMAXe and then again between clariion to VNX. Would recommend the host copy method although this comes with it's own issues around clusters etc but so far we haven't lost any data.
