LUN EXPANSION
Hi all,
i am facing a problem while expanding a striped meta.I am using command
add dev 0013:0014 to meta 0010,
protect_data=TRUE,
bcv_meta_head=00CA;
but my devices which i am adding are not in sequence.they are like 0013,0014,05a2,05c3..
Please help me how to proceed
i tired differnet ways like
add dev 09F5 to meta 0336,protect_data=TRUE;
add dev 05f6 to meta 0336,protect_data=TRUE;
bcv_meta_head=0557;
add dev 09F5 to meta 0336;
add dev 05f6 to meta 0336;
protect_data=TRUE;
bcv_meta_head=0557;
but getting errors
No Events found!

Oh dear. Now I understand what you're trying to do.
Can't you move the data from the meta to another LUN and disolve this source meta afterwards? You could use the BCV space to create the new larger LUN, then move all data to this new LUN and the source meta can be your spare space after the migration.

Try adding a single dev at a time. It's a lot more work, but that'll work.
I'm not sure if you can add devices to a meta which aren't adjacent.

hi...we are short of space...i cant create bcvs,with incresing size.

I dont think you have a way to create it manually as the command only allows you to provide either a single device or a range.

Hi Srik1920.
Try to od the expansion via the SMC. It is much more easier.
