How to delete Orphaned RDF groups ?
Hi All,
As a part of data center migration,we migrated data to the new array using SRDF,after the migration we did the deletepair but the SRDF group didnt delete.Currently there is no device in in this group but I want to delete it from current array.Since there is no device associated with the group I will not able to use half_deletepair option.
All groups are dynamic. Is there anyway I can delete these groups ?

Hello
It looks from the output of the command that you have also removed the connection for that rdf group to its remote Array. For the removegrp to work it has to have a connection to the remote group as it has to ‘clean up’ the group connection on both sides.
If all you have done is unzoned the RAs then you should put the zoning back in. Otherwise you will have to open a SR with the Service Center and get them to check out the connectivity.
If connectivity to the remote Array is no longer possible then with any Symmetrix running 5875 code and below will require intervention by the hardware lab to enable you to remove the group if connectivity resumption is not an option.

Hi Anoop,
As Sam mentioned that you wont be able to delete the rdfg if the remote symm is unzoned and you must engage PSE labs to delete it from Inlines. However, the new VMAX 40k provides this feature to delete the rdfg even if the remote symm is no longer present.

Hi All,
Here the source array is not available.I will not be able to connect it back. This is a DMX4 array. So if I contact PSE lab,can they able to delete it.I have opened a chat with Windows support and they are telling to engage local CE.So I want to know if PSE Lab can do this remotely..

Windows team works on Solution Enabler and this cant be fixed using the Solution Enabler. You should open a chat with Symmetrix group.
