Hot-spare replacement forces another drive offline for a while and comes back online and fails again in a few days.

Hi,

Customer's VMAX environments are triggering events for hot-spare failure and when it is being replaced or after replacement (within 10 minutes), another hot-spare from same environment is going offline. It comes back online and goes down again after few days.

Event 1: The warning in the above snip tiggered immediately after 08B:C0 came online after replacement.

Event 2: The warning in the above snip tiggered immediately after 08C:DA came online after replacement.

Event 1 and Event 2 are from two different vBlock environments.

I was wondering if this is a coincidence that other hot-spares run offline immediately after spare replacement or is it a known fact that VMAX goes through routine check after the disk is replaced?

Any thoughts are much appreciated.
