Exchange storage migration
I’ve a question regarding extending Exchange vol on production server. The disk is reside on DMX 3 array.
What are the extending options do I have?
- Would powerpath migration enabler work in cluster mode? Although this option is
- Is DMX support virtual lun migration, I assume it don’t
- Can OR replicate disk locally?
- Presenting new LUN and ask Exchange admin to perform Mailbox migration at host level, but this might take a long time.
What’s your suggestion?

i would like to extend the existing LUN. If is meta volume, do i just add another member, and extend partition in windows. This just came to my mind now.
Will this work and supported?
Thanks

if it's concatenated, yes it's simple as that. If it's striped then you will need to use a 2-way mirror BCV to perform an online expansion. BCV is used to protect the data during expansion.

unfortuntely it is stripe and we don't have timefinder license. Therefore we cannot use BCV, what are other options do we have?

i am not sure if you need a timefinder license for expansion, try it with a test meta and see if it lets you do that. PowerPath migration enabler could be used as your last resort, there are some cluster restrictions (i think all but one node in the cluster have to be offline during migration), and you are using CPU cycle to move the data but that can be throttled.
OR is used between two arrays.
