Create an alarm

Hi,

I would like to control the usage of my Symmetrix ports. I am suspecting that at some point of time, the usage rises over 90% in some of the ports but I don't know exactly when. I would like to create an alarm so that when the usage is over a threshold (eg. 85%) Symmetrix sends me an email or anything else. Can anyone explain to me how to configure that? I have a Symmetrix 20K.

Thanks

EMC Control Center. Login into SPA and look at Administration > Thresholds/Alerts

Thank you Dynamox.

Last question, I have just created the alarm but, how can I define what to do with the alarm? I would like it to be sent to my email, is that possible? Where can I configure that?

Thanks

Hi zgz_rever

Configure the Email addresses in SMC, as follows:

  1.   Open the Config Alerts dialog and select the Config Email Notification button.

The Configure Email Address dialog opens.

  1.   Click the Config Email Server button to open the Config Email Server dialog box.

Refer to the SMC help for assistance with this dialog box.
