Convert init group to cascading without disruption
Hello,
I have a masking view that uses a standard init group. I just found out we are going to convert this host into a cluster server. How do I convert the masking view to use cascading init groups without disrupting the host that is already using the the view? Thanks.

I think this can be done without disrupting the host IOs if you have got multiple WWNs in the init groups for this host.
disable one hba port, take out this wwn from init group and put it in the cascaded init group then create another MV with the cascaded init, old sg and the pg. enable the hba port.
Once your host starts to see the paths from the new MV then you can take the other wwn from the old init group and add it to the cascaded init. Having Powerpath on the host would be a good idea so that your path failover can happen without any issue.
Lets wait if anybody has got a better plan or experience of dealing with such problems?
