Config Change lock on VMAX
I am not able to make any changes on a VMAX using either the SMC, Unisphere for VMax or the symcli.
I am showing a lock number 15 for a config change when I check the locks on the sym.
When I try symcfg -sid xxxx -lockn 15 release -force I get this message
Lock 15 is held by an internal change session cannot be released
I do not have support on this array anymore, or else I would reach out to EMC support and I am trying to destroy all storage groups in preparation to power it off and am wondering if there is a way to unlock this lock.
Thanks

hi James,
Lock 15 normally is caused by a task that is attempting to run on the VMAX service processor that is failing. In case you don't have support for you array at the moment. I believe you still can contact EMC support via call or live chat and explain your issue to see if the support respective can dialin your box to release the lock through Symmwin.
If not, try to contact your account manager for some help. In addition, to plan a upgrade for you Enginuity or Solutions enabler could be another solution as it fixes existing issue you might have.

Hi James,
This Config lock in the frame does not allow you to run any other config scripts.
As Fenglin said its better to contact your local ASM (Account service manager) or DSM (District service Manager)
They will guide you further.
