Can I replicate between two different sites an IBM DS8700 with CKD Volumes with an VAMX through PPRC?
Hello,
I need to migrate data between IMB DS8700 and VMAX with CKD volumes.
We want to use a third copy with Flash Copy and using PPRC replicate against VMAX.
Is this possible?
Thank you,
Cesar.

Software like Recoverpoint will help to replicate data’s between two different arrays, not any native tools.

There are three different recoverpoint support
1. Host based splitter
2. Switch based splitter
3. Array based splitter
You can check for the switch based recoverpoint splitter support. I am not sure exactly whether its supported or not.

Host Opertating System is z/OS. RecoverPoint in not supported om Z/OS environments, RecoverPoint only supports OPEN environments (Unix, Windows, VMware, Hper-V...).
My question is Can I use PPRC between IBM DS8700 and VMAX?

Ceser is correct in that RP will only do FBA devices, not CKD.
We can PPRC between symmetrix arrays but not between Symm and thrid party array. For a migration of that type you will need to use host based tools. e.g.
- Z/os migrator from EMC
- TDMF
- FDRPAS
The EMC product is free I believe and can perform consolidation as well as like-for-like migration.
