Hi,

If you are on 5875 code you can use symmigrate to migrate the TDEV to a different thin pool online. If you are on an earlier code level you're out of luck, and need to look at something like PowerPath migration enabler, or potentially host based mirror/detach if the system has the capability. If you can take an outage you could clone it to a new device in the desired thin pool.

If on 5875 -

symmigrate -sid xxx -name -file -tgt_pool -pool validate

symmigrate -sid xxx -name -file -tgt_pool -pool establish

symmigrate -sid xxx -name query

Once query shows 100% migrated

symmigrate -sid xxx -name terminate

You can also give symmigrate a disk group if you want to move an entire DG.  Check the symmigrate manual for the syntax.

NL = Nearline = SATA ?

FC = Fibre Channel ?

I guess it's a name some storage admin used to name your tdevs...
