update version 3.10.4.18, windows 11

I have tried about 10 times to update my support assist home pc to version 3.10.4.18 with no success.  I keep receiving the same message Installation Failed, try again.  Very frustrating indeed, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

I understand that my warranty has run out. Your new supportassist upgrade fails every time I dry to download it. What can I do to remedy the problem?

Hi John3161718:

What is your Dell computer model, the version and build of your Win 11 OS (check at Settings | System | About | Windows Specifications), and what is your current version of SupportAssist shown at Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features?

A new SupportAssist v3.11.4.29 started rolling out around 23-Jun-2022 and there have been several changes to the system requirements. The minimum system requirements listed in the v3.11.4 release notes <here> state you must now have .NET Core Runtime v5.0.x in addition to Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2. Moderator jbilinski also posted on 28-Jun-2022 in Admiral1989's SupportAssist - Installation Failed Message that "Dell TechHub replaces Dell Hardware Scan service and is needed to run the Hardware Scan panel" and a new Dell TechHub service appeared on my system (Start | Windows Administrative Tools | Services ) after I updated to SupportAssist v3.11.4.29. I'm not certain, but I think Dell's Fusion Service that is required for the My Dell app might also used by newer versions of SupportAssist, although I might be wrong about that.

My auto-update from SupportAssist v3.10.4.18 to v3.11.4.29 went smoothly on 24-Jun-2022 but that might be because the .NET (Core) Runtime v5.0.16 (KB5013354) was installed on my Inspiron 5584 by Windows Update during my April 2022 Patch Tuesday updates.  Does Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features show that you have a Microsoft .NET Runtime v5.0.x as well as Dell's Fusion Service currently installed on your machine? From my Inspiron 5584 / Win 10 Pro v21H2 machine:

Win 10 Pro v21H2 Control Panel Programs NET Runtime v5_0_17 and Fusion Service 2_0_58 12 Jul 2022.png

Note that I don't like using SupportAssist because it's too buggy and uses too many system resources (my Dell SupportAssist service is currently disabled so this program doesn't start at boot-up) and I prefer to use Dell Update for Windows Universal v4.5.0 to check for available Dell software and driver updates.
